FAQ for Newcomers!

WELCOME to Eastview Baptist Church.  We want your first impressions of Eastview to be welcoming.  We are thankful to have you as a newcomer and we want to meet you where you are in life.  Our pastor and team of volunteers are ready to answer any of your questions as you visit.  We show God's love and treat everyone the same and thank you for visiting with us.

What should I wear?

We invite you to come as come as you are!  Dresses, skirts, bluejeans, and pants are the norm.  However, you might just catch someone wearing a suit and a tie.

What time does service start?

Our services start on Sunday mornings at 10:45am and Sunday evenings at 6pm.  You can join us IN-PERSON or ONLINE!

What about my kids?

At Eastview we love our kids.  We have a Sunday School class for kids all ages.  During the worship services our kids typically participate in the worship service with adults.  We do offer a Wednesday evening children's ministry for grades K-6

Connect With Us!

We would love to meet you in person before or after the services for a few minutes.  Our Pastor is available to talk to newcomers after each service.  If you need prayer or have questions about the church we have volunteers that would be glad to answer any of your questions.

Worship Experience

At Eastview we are old fashioned when it comes to our music.  We are just focused during worship on fixing our hearts on Jesus.  We are not here to entertain but to encourage folks to give back to HIM during worship.  We believe that He is worthy of all our praise!

Life Application Preaching

Pastor Shane preaches God's Word with authority and boldness each week.  Pastor Shane preaches life application messages that are not based on opinions or even what's easy to hear, but what God has to say in His Word.  The messages are intended to be encouraging and challenging for every day living.  A Life Application sheet is provided for each message. WHY BECOME A MEMBER OF EASTVIEW BAPTIST CHURCH?

Discipleship:

Membership provides accountability for those seeking to live justly, love mercy and walk humbly with their God.

Partnership:

Whether you are a student, single, married, widowed, divorced, parent with toddlers, with teenagers, with aging parents, with struggles, or anything in-between, EVBC members commit to walk alongside you in your walk with the Lord.

Worship:

Gathering together for corporate worship is both beneficial and biblical (Hebrews 10:25). Church membership is a requirement for assisting in the services, leading a group, teaching Sunday School, and voting at EVBC.

Mentorship:

Church members who have shown themselves to be faithful, available, and teachable will be eligible to teach others at EVBC.

Statesmanship:

When our church has opportunities that arise and call for a vote or public discussion, membership is a requirement for participation.

MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS:

You must believe in Jesus…

Acts 16:31

This is the cornerstone of who we are. Without Jesus there is no hope, and with Jesus you gain salvation and access to the loving God who created the universe. To be believe in Jesus, you must believe:

·     Jesus existed.

·     Jesus is the Son of God.

·     Jesus died on the cross.

·     Jesus rose from the dead.

·     Jesus alone, is the perfect sacrifice for all our sin.

You must be biblically baptized…

Mark 2, Acts 8

Baptism is not a requirement for salvation, but it is the first step of obedience in an individual’s walk with the Lord. Baptism was important enough that Jesus Himself was sinless and still baptized. Biblical baptism takes place after a person’s salvation experience and is an outward expression of a persons inward change. At EVBC, we baptize by immersion.

You must believe the Bible…

2 Timothy 3:16, Proverbs 30:5, Psalm 119:105, Psalm 119:11

We hold to the teachings of Christ and the Scripture in all things. Period.

You must be willing to serve and give…
Acts 2:42-47

We have the opportunity to bind together in taking the Gospel to our city (across the streets), our county (across the states), and to the ends of the earth (across the seas). At EVBC, we are a hospital for sinners, and not a club for saints. Members have agreed to do all within their power to enable life change with their time and finances.
